In the absence of Mike Penrice and Martin Tickner this week's review is provided by Club President Alan Lynch in timeline format.

Aldwinians were first out of the blocks and had a converted try after 3 minutes - 7-0. The first half was littered with injuries and lasted 49 minutes; Captain David Hanabury had to leave the field after a clash of heads and was not to return. (His first game for 4 weeks as a result of work commitments and family wedding).

On 27 minutes 'Winnies' extended their lead following a catch /drive line out which was also converted. 14-0.

Some encouraging Wigton phase play came to nothing as on a number of occasions handling errors saw attacks break down; during the first 40 two penalties were missed.

Winnies extended their lead with a drop goal on 40 minutes - 17 - 0.

Wigton started the second period well, but again a scoring chance went begging as the ball was spilled with the line in sight. Forward subs Russ McLean and Andy Brown were both used and it was Andrew who controlled an excellent forward maul to get the first try which was converted by Jonny charters on 50 minutes 17 - 7.

Wigton were having the better of things and following some good phase play Gregg Smith scored - although JC missed the conversion the gap had closed to 5 points (17 - 12 ) and made for an interesting final 15.

That was to be as close as Wigton got however as Winnies closed down the game and actually extended their lead to 8 points with a second drop goal on 79 minutes - thereby denying us a BP.
